With multiple washing temperatures and programmes, delay timers, and adjustable top-level racking, this is a kitchen appliance you need. But experience shows that even with the most advanced technology glitches happen. See a variety of Rangemaster dishwasher problems here…

Rangemaster Dishwasher Troubleshooting

Dishwasher won’t start

When your Rangemaster dishwasher won’t start this could be due to several reasons. There may be an issue with the electrical supply, the socket, plug, or fuse. The dishwasher door may not be closing securely, or the programme button may not depress.

Another culprit could be a blocked filter in the water intake hose. All of these problems can be quickly diagnosed and fixed by a qualified repair engineer.

Dishwasher won’t drain

A Rangemaster dishwasher not draining could result from a faulty drain pump – often caused by a foreign object blocking the pump itself. Shards of shattered glass can get embedded in the pump and the filter.

A humming noise would indicate that an obstruction has occurred in the drain pump caused by the motor when the impeller is unable to turn. If your dishwasher has an outlet flap this can on occasion get stuck. This flap is fitted over the outlet that feeds into the drain hose.

Another common reason for the dishwasher not draining properly is a blockage in the drain path – this could be in the sump, pump, drain hose or sink drain. An experienced engineer will quickly identify the cause of this problem and fix it.

Dishwasher stops mid cycle

If your Rangemaster dishwasher is stopping in the middle of its cycle this may be due to a blocked hose – meaning the water is unable to drain. A failed heating element can also cause the dishwasher to stop functioning – or a defective vent fan may be an issue here.

Broken door latches will also prevent the dishwasher from running a complete cycle. If the switch or the rubber gasket are faulty the dishwasher will automatically stop as a safety measure to ensure there’s no water leakage from the appliance.

A failing motor that spins the spraying arms will stop the cleaning process. If this is the case the motor will need to be repaired or replaced. Electrical concerns include a tripped switch on the home circuit board – this needs a qualified engineer to determine the source of the supply distribution. And to provide you with an appropriate repair.

Error Displays

Rangemaster dishwasher faults are displayed on the programme indicator with a blinking letter A followed by a number. These Rangemaster dishwasher error codes include:

A1 and A2 blinking – indicates issues with the door closing properly

A1, A2, and A3 blinking – the water supply will need to be checked alongside the water pressure. There may be difficulties with the hoses being damaged, a blockage in the filter to the water supply hose, or simply that the drain hose is too low

A1, A3, and A4 blinking – resulting from the drain hose being positioned too high or damage to the drain hose itself

A1 and A4 blinking – pointing to the drain hose in a position that’s too low

When other error buttons are displayed and your machine fails to operate, you’ll need to contact your local appliance repairers and try to provide them with the nature of the setback.
